cuckoo-fish

cuckoo-fish
upside-down catfishes (Synodus multipunctatus and S. petricola, Mochokidae) in Lake Tanganyika that lay their eggs at the same time as mouth-brooding Cichlidae. The cichlids pick up these catfish eggs along with their own but the catfish eggs hatch more quickly, being smaller, and feed on the cichlid\'s eggs
